9/11 Commemoration
A real conversation about what happened that day — not the gory details, but what it meant, and what people did for total strangers in the middle of it. First responders will be there. Ask them anything.
For Youth
You didn’t live through September 11, 2001. You don’t have to pretend you remember something you never experienced — and this day isn’t asking you to.
What it is asking is this: take one day to understand what happened, why it still matters 25 years later, and what people did for each other in the middle of it. Then take what you learn and do something real with it.
You’ll move through three stations, built to be things you actually do, not things you just sit through.
A real conversation about what happened that day — not the gory details, but what it meant, and what people did for total strangers in the middle of it. First responders will be there. Ask them anything.
A space to talk honestly about the stuff that’s actually hard — grief, disappointment, everyday struggles — and walk away with real tools you can use long after this day is over.
You’ll put together winter care packages for other teens your age living in shelters across New York. You write the note. You pack the box. It goes to someone who needed it.
Twenty-five years ago, strangers helped strangers. Communities came together almost overnight. That’s the part of the story that’s easy to lose — and it’s the part we want you to carry forward.
This isn’t a lecture. Show up, ask questions, and put something real into the world by the end of the day.
